FAQs
Is the host location a community hub, with good foot traffic and positive neighbourhood connections?
We want to ensure food is accessible to neighbours, and that each location is a safe and positive space to give and receive food. For that reason, it’s important that the host location encourages the community to self-sustain the fridge.
Will the fridge host also be helping to fill the fridge for the community?
Although the community, as well as Community Fridges TO, provides food whenever possible, we also encourage fridge hosts to participate as much as they’re able.
Will the fridge need a shelter build or are you able to build it yourself?
Although we have volunteers who can help with labour and sometimes supplies, we prioritize locations that are able to self-sustain.
Will the fridge be accessible 24/7?
Our priority is for locations that don’t need to lock the fridge or limit access during certain hours.
