How can I support CFTO?

cleaning & check-ins

This is an essential part of keeping CFTO locations clean and safe. Neighbours check on locations twice a day, cleaning surfaces, checking expiry dates, and removing prohibited items. When you sign up below, we’ll email you a link to the Google spreadsheet, where you can sign up for check-in shifts.

Tabling events

CFTO tables at events like farmers’ markets, concerts, festivals, and community events to collect food and monetary donations, and help spread the word.

If you have an upcoming event, we would love to partner with you! Reach out to us today to learn more.

food distribution

CFTO receives generous donations of food through partnerships with local businesses. These donations often need to be picked-up and distributed to fridges throughout the city. If you have a car, truck, or cargo bike, you can transport groceries to CFTO locations.

Create art or design graphics

We often need art and graphics for zines, stickers, newsletters, social media, print brochures, and more.

reach out to the community

Spreading the word about CFTO helps us bring in new donations and volunteers, while also helping new community members access our services.

Approaching local business owners, schools, and community groups, in person or through email, is a great way to support our work.

help build and maintain sheds

Our fridges and pantries see very high traffic, and are prone to regular wear and tear. If you’re handy, you can help us repair existing sheds or build and design new ones.
